Account & Data Deletion
Delete your account and data
MyLifePapers is local-first: your records live encrypted on your own devices, not on our servers. This page covers how to delete the small amount of data tied to your account — and what to do about the records on your device.
How to request deletion
Email support@mylifepapers.com from any address and include your license key (find it in the app under Settings → License). No account login is required to make the request.
We delete the data described below within 7 days and email you to confirm once it's done.
Email a deletion requestWhat we delete
- Synced vault data. Any encrypted record blobs you stored in our cloud (Plus/Trial sync) are permanently removed. These were never readable by us — they're encrypted with a key only you hold — but they're erased regardless.
- Shared links. Any active Trusted Access or Send links you created, and their encrypted contents, are deleted.
- Pairing records. Any device-pairing data is removed (this also expires on its own).
- Your email. The email address on your license is erased. We keep an anonymized record of the license key and plan dates as a financial/tax record, with no personal information attached.
What stays on your device
Your records are stored on your own device, encrypted. We can't reach them and a deletion request doesn't touch them. To remove the local copy, uninstall the app — on a fresh install there's nothing left to recover unless you've synced or paired elsewhere.
This is permanent
Deletion can't be undone. Once your synced data is erased and your local copy is removed, those records are gone — we have no back channel to restore them. If you only want to stop syncing, you can switch your sync provider in the app instead of deleting your account.
